Another form of thug worship just made the news. Michael Vick has recieved the Ed Block Courage Award.

From Yahoo Sports:
"Each year, the Ed Block Courage Awards honors those National Football League players who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. Recipients are selected by their teammates for team effort, as well as individual performance. The Ed Block Courage Award recipient symbolizes professionalism, great strength and dedication. He is also a community role model."

They say it took courage to face the medi, PETA & all the fans that ostricized him. One season does not an idol make. Excuse me...I forgot the times we're living in. Anyway...Obama was nominated for the Nobel with just a couple of months in the White House & said after accepting the award that he now has to live up to it. I guess Vick can follow suit, plus now we know what kind of men the Eagles really are.

I agree Boopster. When are we as a society gonna quit worshipping these thugs. I must say that most are not but there are those out there that feel they ARE above the law because someone has been getting them out of trouble all of their lives. When are we gonna start teaching responsibility?
I don't see Tiger being responsible either. He's got the money to lay low for a while so he chickens out & takes the easy way. Not only has he driven a dagger into his family but dissappointed millions of fans & black Americans that don't even follow golf who felt yeah this is what I want my child to be like & were proud that a black man dominated a sport that for too long was a white sport only. If Earl was alive I think he would whup Tiger's ass.

I know I'm late with this & not around much but I want to say...this warming then freezing thing has been cycling over & over these past millions & millions of years. A fact supported by ALL scientists. The contribution of man to this "global warming" is minuscule. To borrow from Michael Crichton, "How arrogant to think we can destroy the world. We may wipe out man but we can't kill this planet." That's just how I feel about it.

Brandon Spikes got his hand slapped for an offense that should really have put him in jail or at least got him shut out for the season, but no-he has to sit out only the 1st half of the game against Vanderbilt. Splikes jammed his fingers thru the mask of Ealey, trying to put his eyes out. If he had succeeded-would the punishment be harsher? Somehow, our athletes are becoming sacro sanct--the true untouchables. Are they above the law--I think not.

Sad that the committee had to defend itself for the first time. Maybe it's because Clinton never got it and he should have-without question. Or maybe it's because Obama is attempting to unify the globe, not have us isolated which does put us in more danger. Let's cut a little slack here, and back off since eating crow is not very tasty mmmm.

It was a big waste of money to crash into the moon-so Obama was right to cut their buget-you'd be even angrier, No Slak, if they repeated the stupid actions-right? But you go too far, implying JFK gave a "drunken" speech. At least he had the vision to get to the moon, a feat noone had dreamed of before.

Ok, No Slak, who FORCED you to go to his movies--and if you saw part 1, then what happened to make you go parts 11, 111, &1v--if they really survived past part 2?

No argument from me regarding all the changing of the mind those scientists go thru-I agree 100% about coffee and eggs and many other things-enough to boggle the mind-so, as long as ones opinion isn't based on a political bias-I'll take a wait and see stand. However, my chauvanistic friend, I'd bet you're still waiting for your maid to bring your latte--adieu!
